yourweaponisguilt: “(A.) Implying minorities never suffer from depression or anxiety? (B.) Way to trivialize my insecurity, jackass. That’s the last thing I need.”
genuinegenuinee: Interesting. I doubt that when people say “white people problems” they’re speaking about depression and anxiety. And if they are, then they are ableist—in all aspects—nothing else. I think the “white person problem” indicates something that white people don’t want to realize: because someone is white, their lives are automatically, by birth, because of privilege, better than most people who are POC. Thus, when POC hear certain things that some white people deal with that may seem trivial, let’s say, finding out someone is wearing the exact same dress to prom or something arbitrary, it is to indicate the lack of systemic oppression whites face vs. POC. Hence, their lives are much easier, so when they do face an obstacle they don’t know how to deal with it/are baffled by it.
wowww.. what an idiot. i’m personally annoyed with whitegirlproblems and gayboyproblems ect, but for a better reason.
