So, there’s obviously been some negative press on North Carolina as of late: the Planned Parenthood defunding, the editorial on Greensboro on the front of CNN.com last week that paints the city in a less than stellar light, the usual constant complaining of a lot of people that live here and can’t…
Tired of hearing people saying that they are “boycotting” UO. Apparentlyyyy UO current CEO is openly gay. Not saying that changes things all the way, but i didn’t realize that..
“Not only is Glen Senk openly gay, he is the ONLY openly gay CEO of a Fortune 1,000 company, not to mention the slew of other high level openly gay employees the company employees. Richard Hayne gave money to Rick Santorum nearly 10 years ago, people change. Hell, I was pro-capital punishment 10 years ago. In addition, UO also extends benefits to employees partners - life, health, family leave, etc… How many Fortune 1,000 companies do that? I’m not saying to go shop there, the stuff IS over priced! But perhaps rather than demonizing Dick he could be used an example of how people change for the better. After all, aren’t there lots of minds that need to be changed should we ever want to move forward on gay rights/equality?”-James (0ff of The Advocate.com)
The summer of live music started off tonight with Mumford and Sons (killed it)..The Decemberists on Saturday, with Death Cab for Cutie, Bon Iver with The Rosebuds, Ke$ha, The Goo Goo Dolls, and The Avett Brothers all to follow.
Just saw Mumford & Sons at the downtown Raleigh Amphitheater. So, so, so good y’all. Such great energy, sold out crowd, summer southern air, cold beers and just an impeccable performance. Yet another night that I’m reminded of how much I love music and how much I love this state.
YES to all this.
AND i’m lovin’ the fact that they are SO in love with North Carolina too (the best state ever, if ya had to ask me.) hehe
